Ross Wienert
Architectural Associate

Born and raised in Port Arthur, TX (home of Robert Rauschenberg, Janis Joplin, and Bun-B), Ross has worked on a wide variety of projects types at offices in Texas and abroad, including Corgan Associates in Dallas and Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos in Madrid. As an architect, he is interested in the way that things like space, light, and material contribute to the way a way building is experienced.

Ross received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Michigan followed by a Master of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin, where he also worked as a Teaching Assistant. Upon graduating, he served as an Assistant Professor at Prairie View A&M University and assistant director of the CURES Center. He currently teaches as an adjunct at the University of Houston.

Throughout his career, Ross has explored how design can be used to serve the public good. As a graduate student, he collaborated with a group of like-minded individuals in Biloxi on the design and construction of A House for Patty, who lost her home to Hurricane Katrina. He also recently worked with landscape architect Falon Mihalic on Climate Pulse, an environmentally responsive sculpture in Houston’s Emancipation Park.

Ross enjoys listening to a wide range of music, and he cares entirely too much about basketball.
