Shaelyn was born and raised in a small town of Helotes, on the outskirts of San Antonio, Texas. Her journey in architecture began at Texas A&M University in College Station, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Design in 2023. This foundational education honed her skills in sustainable design and cultivated a deep appreciation for residential architecture and creating spaces that harmonize with their environment.
Currently, Shaelyn is pursuing a Master’s degree in Architecture at Rice University in Houston, Texas. She is thrilled to continue refining her technical skills and engage in material research.
When she's not doing school, Shaelyn enjoys spending time with friends, playing pickleball and
volleyball, and being outdoors. She also has a passion for culinary adventures, often trying new recipes and cooking with friends. Additionally, Shaelyn loves traveling and exploring the architecture of various cultures. She was recently awarded a travel fellowship, which allowed her to travel to Japan to study the sensory effects of materiality and minimalist assembly practices.
Shaelyn hopes to continue broadening her architectural knowledge and skills through travel and work experiences and is excited to see where her education takes her.
